Nov. 15th Battle Results

Welcome back to the results post. I featured the Diane Warren song, "Because You Loved Me," originally recorded by Celine Dion in 1996. Her challenger was Johnny Mathis, who recorded the song in 2004.

A couple of times I thought they might tie, but in the end... the majority went with Celine. It's okay. I like her version, but Johnny's did exactly what I wanted. I voted for him, (smile). Thank you for your participation!

Final tally: Celine Dion ~13 votes
Johnny Mathis ~ 10 votes

Now I'm going to ease into my easy chair with a good book. Oops, first I'll thank our event hosts:

    1. Alex! No apologies, please. We all vote with the same parameter: 'the version we like the best.'

For so long, Celine was my 'go-to' version. For me, finding Mathis explained another layer of love.

My birthday is this coming Monday. I'll try very hard to post up something to the other two blogs!!

Thank you for your concern, my friend (smile). ~ Dixie

That was a nice, close Battle, and it must make up for the October 15th Battle that you found disappointing.

I'm surprised MATHIS wound up in such striking distance because, although I also voted for him, at one time it seemed to me he was pretty far behind. He must have made up some ground, eh?

    I hope you have a beautiful Thanksgiving Day celebration and overdo the feasting. [:o)}

    1. Dion had the show by the second day, or so I thought. Along came the Beer Boys, Sheboyganboy Six, and a newcomer voter - all for Mathis. I was so excited!

What is so strange is that I no longer wish to hear Celine sing this song. My life has really changed, and I'm okay with it.

Thanksgiving events are still up in the air right now. I'm not sure what the day will bring, but that's okay too.I hope you'll have time to connect with family and special friends!

  5. Wow, Dixie... That really was close. I voted for Johnny, but I saw a lot of votes coming in for Celine and I never expected such close results. Good one!

    1. Yes, Guilie- Johnny was saved with four very unexpected votes. It would have been 13 - 6... lucky, huh?

I got your links on your blog to work today. Real nice. See you on Dec. 1st.

  7. That was a good pairing; I say that because I love both artists.

MEANWHILE....what about that header? The green bike just jumps out from the background. I'm in love with that picture. It makes me want to dig out paint and brushes.

Hope you're well and take care, Dixie!

    1. I bought the bike!!! Saw this photo on Craig's list and made a deal. I'm hoping to be back on it by late winter. You're right - it would make a killer painting.

Hope Gonzo is better, and you guys have a great Thanksgiving day.

Meanwhile, I'll post up another Johnny for fun soon!

  8. I'm not surprised that Celine won, but Mathis fared well too. Excellent job in matching contestants.

  9. Always sad to be on the losing end, but at least we weren't alone. Whatever you end up doing for Thanksgiving, we hope it's a good one and involves way too much tasty food!

    1. Gee guys, thanks for the double Mathis vote!!! We tried.

I'll definitely do Thanksgiving. Right now I have three invitations. What to do? Where to go? I hope you guys do a Thanksgiving spoof post! (smile)

      Thank you for voting here.

  10. Oh no, Dixie! Darn it that Celine won!

Here's to you getting better and yes, as I type this, it's your birthday, although, because of these blasted time zones, your birthday was yesterday where I live. Confusing! :)

    1. Gary - yes she did, but that doesn't deter me from having fun. Yes, my birthday was the 23rd... and your comment arrived in plenty of time - thank you.

Glad you could vote in this battle.
